Sofia, April 28 (BTA) - Bulgaria needs at least 30,000 to 40,000
ICT specialists, BAIT CEO Vessela Kalucheva said at Tuesday's
opening of a meeting dedicated to e-skills for employment and
economic growth.
The event launched the "eSkills for jobs 2015-2016" campaign in
Bulgaria, an extension of the "eSkills for Jobs 2014" project
which ended in December 2014. The European Commission decided to
extend the project in 2015 and 2016 because of the continuing
chronic shortage of ICT staff in the EU, combined with a high
degree of unemployment among you people up to 25. The project
will be implemented by the Digital Europe and EuropeanSchool.net
coalition again and BAIT will be the executive partner for
Bulgaria, Kalucheva said.
Participants in the campaign presented its objectives and their
initiatives - mainly good practices focused on the acquisition
of e-skills for finding work, requalification of unemployed with
higher education and various training courses.
According to the European Commission, Europe needs nearly a
million high-tech experts and there are over 4.5 million
positions in these fields across the world.
