Six Bulgarian Wines Win Golden Rhython Awards at 2017 Vinaria
Plovdiv, Southern Bulgaria, February 23 (BTA) - Six Bulgarian wines won the Golden Rhyton award at the 2017 edition of the Vinaria exhibition of the vine-growing and wine-making industry, the National Vine and Wine Chamber said. More than 306 Bulgarian and foreign wines were entered in the competition.
The Villa Yambol wine-making company won the highest number of medals: nine gold and four silver.
The Bulgarian winners are:
Best white wine from the 2016 vintage: Chardonnay/Sauvignon Blanc of the Villa Yambol winery
Best white wine from previous vintages: Chardonnay Elenovo of the Edoardo Miroglio winery
Best rose from the 2016 vintage: Grand Prix Golden Rhythm Rose of the Black Sea Gold winery
Best rose from previous vintages: Gaetan Rose of the Oryahovitsa winery
Best red wine from the 2016 vintage: Villa Marvella Cabernet Franc of the Black Sea Gold winery
Best red wine from previous vintages: Rubaiyat Rde Blend of the Vinex Preslav winery
The first award in the category Recommended Wine from a Local Grape Variety went to a white wine from red muscat grapes made by the Karabounar winery.
