Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan-Bulgaria

A delegation from Pakistan under the leadership of Ambassador Zaheer A. Janjua Additional Secretary (Europe) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited Sofia for Bilateral Political Consultations on 7^th December, 2017. The Bulgarian side was led by Ambassador Kostadin Kodzhabashev Director General (Bilateral Relations) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two sides reviewed the whole spectrum of bilateral relations and identified opportunities and possibilities for further cooperation, especially in the spheres of trade and economy, investment, culture, education, science & technology, defence, parliamentary exchanges and people-to-people contacts. Both sides expressed satisfaction at their ongoing collaboration at the UN and other multilateral fora.

         Ambassador Janjua also paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Elena Shekerletova, Permanent Secretary of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  The Additional Secretary also met Deputy Minister of Economy Mr. Aleksandar Manolev and discussed ways and means to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The two sides agreed to hold the next round of Consultations in Islamabad in 2018 at mutually convenient dates.
