Total Business Climate Indicator Up 0.9 Per Cent in December, Month on Month
December 30 (BTA) - In December 2019, the Total Business Climate Indicator increased by 0.9 percentage points from November as a result of an improvement of the indicators in industry, construction and service sector, the National Statistical Institute reported on Monday.
The Business Climate in Industry Composite Indicator rose by 0.7 percentage points due to managers' favourable assessments of the present business situation of their enterprises.
In December, the Business Climate in Construction Composite Indicator went up by 2.6 percentage points as a result of building contractors' improved assessments of the present business situation of their enterprises. The shortage of labour, the uncertain economic environment and the competition in the branch continued to be the main business constraints in the sector.
The Business Climate in Retail Trade Composite Indicator remained approximately unchanged from November 2019. Retailers' forecasts were favourable regarding both the volume of sales and orders placed with suppliers on foreign markets over the next three months.
In December, the Business Climate in the Services Sector Composite Indicator increased by 0.9 percentage points as a result of managers' more favourable assessments and expectations about the business situation of their enterprises. Their opinions about the demand for services over the next three months were also more optimistic. RI/LG
