End-March Deposits of Non-government Sector Amount to Lv 85.251 Bln
April 27 (BTA) - At the end of March 2020, deposits of the non-government sector were 85.251 billion leva (67.1 per cent of GDP), increasing annually by 7.8 per cent, the Bulgarian National Bank reported on Monday.
Deposits of non-financial corporations were 25.814 billion leva (20.3 per cent of GDP) at the end of March 2020. Compared to the same month of 2019 they increased by 10.5 per cent.
Deposits of financial corporations decreased by 1.4 per cent annually in March 2020 and at the end of the month they were 3.317 billion leva (2.6 per cent of GDP).
Deposits of households and household-serving non-profit institutions were 56.121 billion leva (44.1 per cent of GDP) at the end of March 2020. They increased by 7.2 per cent compared to the same month of 2019.
At the end of March 2020, claims on loans to the non-government sector amounted to 63.364 billion leva (49.8 per cent of GDP), increasing annually by 9.1 per cent.
In March 2020, loans to non-financial corporations increased by 5.2 per cent annually and at the end of the month amounted to 34.824 billion leva (27.4 per cent of GDP).
Loans to households and household-serving non-profit institutions were 24.360 billion leva (19.2 per cent of GDP) at the end of March 2020. They increased by 9.9 per cent compared to the same month of 2019. At the end of March 2020 loans for house purchases were 11.053 billion leva and increased by 14.8 per cent annually. Consumer loans amounted to 11.540 billion leva and compared to March 2019 they rose by 10.4 per cent.
Loans granted to financial corporations were 4.180 billion leva at the end of March 2020 (3.3 per cent of GDP). Compared to March 2019, they increased by 50.5 per cent. RI/VE
