Due to COVID-19 Pandemic
Sofia, July 15 (BTA) - The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) announced on Wednesday that it has approved the extension of terms in the moratorium on payments.
The revisions are related to extending the deadlines for bank clients to apply for postponement of payments and their approval by the banks until September 30, 2020; and extending the deadline for loan payments until March 31, 2021.
On July 9, 2020, the managing board of the BNB adopted a decision to follow the recommendations by the European Banking Authority (EBA) regulating legislative and private moratoriums on loan payments, implemented in view of the COVID-19 crisis. The recommendations are published on the EBA web site.
