Consumer Prices Deflate by 0.6 Per Cent in September, Month on Month - Official Statistics
Sofia, October 14 (BTA) - Measured by the consumer price index
(CPI), Bulgaria's monthly inflation in September 2020 was minus
0.6 per cent compared to August 2020, the National Statistical
Institute reported on Tuesday. The inflation rate since the
beginning of the year (September 2020 compared to December 2019)
was minus 1.1 per cent, and the annual inflation in September
2020 compared to September 2019 was 0.9 per cent.
The annual average CPI inflation in the last 12 months (October
2019 - September 2020) compared to the previous 12 months
(October 2018 - September 2019) was 2.3 per cent.
Measured by the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP), the
monthly inflation in September 2020 was minus 1.2 per cent
compared to August 2020. The inflation rate since the beginning
of the year (September 2020 compared to December 2019) was minus
0.7 per cent, and the annual inflation in September 2020
compared to September 2019 was 0.6 per cent.
The annual average inflation, measured by HICP, in the last 12
months (October 2019 - September 2020) compared to the previous
12 months (October 2018 - September 2019), was 1.7 per cent.
The price index of a small basket of 100 socially useful goods
and services that are vital for living in September 2020
compared to August 2020 was 100.1 per cent, and the overall
increase since the beginning of the year (September 2020
compared to December 2019) was 101.3 per cent. NV/LG
