Average Interest Rate on Non-financial Corporations' Leva-denominated Deposits Was in Negative Territory in January 2021

February 25 (BTA) - In January 2021 compared to January
2020, the average interest rate on non-financial corporations'
leva-denominated deposits with agreed maturity declined by 0.11
percentage points to minus 0.07%, and that on euro-denominated
deposits with agreed maturity increased by 0.01 percentage
points to 0.01%, the Bulgarian National Bank reported on
Thursday.

The average interest rate on households' leva-denominated
deposits with agreed maturity decreased by 0.02 percentage
points to 0.12%, and that on euro-denominated deposits dropped
by 0.06 percentage points to 0.09%.

In January 2021 compared to January 2020, the average interest
rate on non-financial corporations' loans of up to 1 million
euro agreed in leva decreased by 0.42 percentage points to
3.24%, and that on loans of up to 1 million euro agreed in euro
fell by 0.17 percentage points to 2.76%. The average interest
rate on non-financial corporations' loans of over 1 million euro
 agreed in leva declined by 0.13 percentage points to 2.47%, and
 that on loans of over 1 million euro agreed in euro increased
by 0.12 percentage points to 2.76%.

The average interest rate on households' consumer loans taken
out in leva declined by 0.08 percentage points to 8.26%, and
that on households' consumer loans taken out in euro dropped by
1.04 percentage points to 3.29%. The average interest rate on
households' house purchase loans taken out in leva decreased by
0.15 percentage points to 2.82%, while that on house purchase
loans taken out in euro rose by 0.09 percentage points to 3.74%.

Also in January 2021 compared to January 2020, the annual
percentage rate of charge on consumer loans taken out in leva
decreased by 1.24 percentage points to 8.77%, and that on
consumer loans taken out in euro went down by 0.91 percentage
points to 3.78%. The annual percentage rate of charge on house
purchase loans taken out in leva declined by 0.16 percentage
points to 3.10%, and that on house purchase loans taken out in
euro decreased by 0.06 percentage points to 4.10%. NV/VE
