to Encourage COVID-19 Vaccination
Sofia, May 10 (BTA) - The representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria is launching a large-scale campaign to encourage Bulgarians to get vaccinated against COVID-19, the representation said on Monday.
The campaign will support the efforts of the Bulgarian health authorities to inform the public about the benefits of getting a COVID vaccine and is carried out with in cooperation with the Health Ministry, the Bulgarian Medical Association, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria and other partner organizations.
According to the acting head of the EC Representation in Bulgaria, Tsvetan Kyulanov, Bulgaria and Europe are at a crucial stage in the fight against the pandemic. "Now when the availability of safe and efficient vaccines in the EU is guaranteed we should use the momentum to quickly vaccinate at least 70 per cent of the adult population," Kyulanov said, quoted in the press release.
Within the campaign videos, audio messages for radio audiences and other visual communication materials will be used with which the EC office in Bulgaria hopes to engage Bulgarians to learn more about vaccines from doctors and medical experts.
The EC Representation in Bulgaria has put up a dedicated webpage with the basic facts about COVID-19 vaccination (https://ec.europa.eu/bulgaria/events/vaccination-campaign_bg). It will provide the answers to the most common questions in an accessible and easy to understand language. NV/PP
