Industrial Prices in Industry Up in April - Statistics
Sofia, May 31 (BTA) - The total producer price index in April
2021 increased by 9.8 per cent compared to the same month in
2020, the National Statistical Institute said on Monday. An
increase in prices was registered in the mining and quarrying
industry (by 20 per cent), in the manufacturing industry (by
10.9 per cent), and in the production and distribution of
electricity, heat and gas (by 5.5 per cent).
A more significant increase in the manufacturing industry was
reported in: manufacture of basic metals (by 31.3 per cent),
manufacture of rubber and plastics (by 9.4 per cent),
manufacture of chemicals (by 8.6 per cent), and in manufacture
of food products (by 6.8 percent). A decrease in prices was
observed in the manufacture of textiles and textile products,
except apparel (by 2 per cent), and in the manufacture of
computer equipment, electronic and optical products (by 0.6 per
cent).
The general index of producer prices in industry in April
increased by 0.3 per cent compared to the previous month. An
increase was registered in the production and distribution of
electricity and heat and gas (by 0.6 per cent), in manufacturing
(by 0.2 per cent), and a decrease was reported in the mining
and quarrying industry (by 1.5 per cent).
A larger increase in producer prices in the manufacturing
industry was observed in: manufacture of rubber and plastic
products (by 4.6 per cent), manufacture of wood and of products
of wood and cork, except furniture (by 3 per cent); chemical
products (by 2.2 per cent). A decrease in prices was reported in
