Sofia, June 1 (BTA) - The ambassadors of the United States to
Bulgaria, Herro Mustafa, and of Great Britain, Rob Dixon,
Tuesday paid an official visit to the Commission for Protection
from Discrimination (CPD), the commission said.

Their excellencies met with CPD Chair, Assoc. Prof. Ana
Dzhoumalieva, and Deputy Chairman Assoc. Prof. Baki Hyuseinov.
The guests were acquainted with the specific features of the
commission's work, its preventive activity and priorities.

The sides discussed possibilities that could enable the two
embassies to support CPD in fighting discrimination. Matters of
mutual interest were also included, not least overcoming the
unequal treatment of the LGBTQI community by more tolerance.
A number of ideas were jotted down that could serve as a basis
for future joint action to protect equality with both the
embassies and institutions in the two countries working in the
field of anti-discrimination and human rights. NV/BR
