NSI: Industrial Production Index in May Down by 1.2% from April, Up by 16.5% Y/Y
July 10 (BTA) - According to preliminary data of the
National Statistical Institute, in May of 2021 the Industrial
Production Index, seasonally adjusted, decreased by 1.2 per cent
compared to April 2021.
In May 2021 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index
rose by 16.5 per cent in comparison with the same month of
2020.
In May 2021 as compared to April 2021, the seasonally adjusted
Industrial Production Index fell in the electricity, gas, steam
and air conditioning supply by 2.7 per cent and in manufacturing
by 1.1 per cent, while production rose in the mining and
quarrying industry by 3.3 per cent.
The most significant decrease in the manufacturing was seen in
other manufacturing by 25.8 per cent, in the manufacture of
other transport equipment by 18.2 per cent, in the manufacture
of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers by 14.5 per cent,
and in the manufacture of leather and related products by 12.7
per cent.
Major increase was reported in the manufacture of chemicals and
chemical productsby 11.3 per cent, in the manufacture of other
non-metallic mineral products by 7.7 per cent,in the manufacture
of wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture;
manufacture of articles of straw and plaiting materials by 6.8
per cent and in the manufacture of tobacco products by 6.6 per
cent.
