NSI: Revenues from Nights Spent in May 2021 Reach 39.6 Million Leva
July 12 (BTA) - The total revenues from nights spent in
May 2021 reached 39.6 million leva, as 29.4 million were from
Bulgarians and 10.2 million - from foreigners, the National
Statistical Institute reported on Monday.
In May 2021, the total occupancy of the bed-places in
accommodation establishments was 15.9 per cent. The highest
occupancy of the bed-places was in 4 and 5 stars accommodation
establishments - 17.3 per cent, followed by 3 stars
accommodation establishments - 16.3 per cent, and with 1 and 2
stars - 13.4 per cent.
In May 2021, during the continuing epidemic situation, 2 043
accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites,
mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term
accommodation with more than 10 bed-places functioned in the
country. The total number of the rooms in them was 72.4 thousand
and the bed-places were 153.6 thousand.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation
establishments registered in May 2021 was 731.7 thousand (586.3
thousand Bulgarians and 145.4 thousand foreigners).
In May 2021, 75.5 per cent of all nights spent by foreign
citizens and 43.5 per cent of all nights spent by Bulgarians
were realized in 4 and 5 stars hotels. In 3 stars accommodation
establishments were spent 14.4 per cent of all nights by
foreigners and 28.1 per cent of all nights by Bulgarian
residents, while in the rest of accommodation establishments
(with 1 and 2 stars) they were 10.1 per cent and 28.4 per cent
respectively.
In May 2021, the number of arrivals in all accommodation
establishments reached 348.4 thousand, as 84.4 per cent were
Bulgarians who spent 2.0 nights on the average. The arrivals of
foreigners were 54.4 thousand, and had on average 2.7 nights, as
75.1 per cent of them spent nights in hotels with 4 and 5
stars.
