Employers' Costs per Hour Worked Increase by Almost 7% in Second Quarter of 2021
September 21 (BTA) - According to preliminary data of the
National Statistical Institute in the second quarter of 2021
the total costs of employers per hour worked by their employees
increased by 6.7 per cent compared to the second quarter of
2020. In industry the increase was by 1.7 per cent, in services
- by 4.7 per cent, and in construction - by 13.4 per cent.
In the second quarter of 2021, the highest growth of total
labour costs, compared to the same period of the previous year,
was registered in the economic sectors "General Government" - by
23.2 per cent, "Health and Social Work" - by 21.3 percent per
cent, and "Construction" - by 13.4 per cent.
The largest decrease in total labour costs was registered in
"Real Estate Operations" - by 4.9 per cent, "Transport,
Warehousing and Post Offices" - by 2.2 per cent, and "Financial
and Insurance Activities" - by 1.2 per cent.
In the second quarter of 2021 compared to the second quarter of
2020, the costs for remuneration per hour worked increased by
7.2 per cent, and other costs (other than those for
remuneration) - by 4.3 per cent. By economic sectors, the change
in the expenses for remunerations, compared to the same period
of the previous year, varied from 23.4 per cent for "General
Government" to minus 5.6 per cent for "Real Estate Operations".
