"In the Heart of the Machine" Wins Grand Prize of Golden Rose Film Festival

Varna, on the Black Sea, September 30 (BTA) - "In the Heart of the Machine" by director Martin Makariev won on Wednesday evening the grand prize of the 39th edition of the Bulgarian feature film festival "Golden Rose". In the short films, the award went to "Donkey" by Martin Negrev.

The best actress award went to Aleksandra Kostova for her role in "Petya of My Petya" directed by Alexander Kossev. Among the actors, the prize went to Julian Vergov for his performance in the Bulgarian-German co-production "German Lessons" by Pavel Vesnakov.

Nenad Borojevic received the award for best cinematographer for his work in "Fishbone ". The jury of the festival awarded the script of Borislav Zahariev for "In the Heart of the Machine". The director's award went to Pavel Vesnakov for "German Lessons". The special award of the jury was for the crew of the film "January".

This year, the critics presented two awards. One was as an encouragement for a young artist and went to Veselka Kuncheva for the short film "Mona Lisa". In the feature films, the award was for "January" by Andrey Paounov. The jury of the festival awarded two diplomas distinguishing the short films "Mona Lisa" and "FriDgid". The actors from "Women Do Cry" by Mina Mileva and Vesela Kazakova, and Albena Pavlova from "Petya of My Petya" received such recognition in the feature films.
