Sofia, November 10 (BTA) - Deposits of the non-government sector amounted to over 100 billion leva at the end of September 2021, while loans reached some 70 billion leva, the Bulgarian National Bank reported on Wednesday.
The number of loans to non-financial corporations, financial corporations, households and non-profit institutions serving households (NPISHs) decreased by 2.4 per cent on an annual basis at the end of the third quarter of 2021, while their amount rose by 7.5 per cent to 69.6 billion leva.
At the end of September 2021, the number of loans to households and NPISHs reached over 28 billion leva.
There were 141 thousand loans to Non-financial corporations at the end of the third quarter of 2021, decreasing by 1.9 per cent on an annual basis. Their total amount was 36.6 billion leva, marking a 4 per cent increase on an annual basis.
The three economic activities with the largest share in the total amount of loans to the sector were trade or repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (26.7 per cent), manufacturing (21.6 per cent) and Rreal estate activities (10.4 per cent). At the end of September 2021 the loans over 1 million leva had the largest share (74.7 per cent) in the total amount of loans.
There were some 0.9 thousand loans to financial corporations at the end of the third quarter of 2021, increasing by 12.3 per cent on an annual basis. Their amount was 4.896 billion leva, which was an 11 per cent annual rise. At the end of September 2021 the loans over 1 million leva had a 98.3 per cent share in the total amount of loans to the sector.
At the end of September 2021, the number of loans to households and NPISHs decreased annually by 2.4 per cent reaching 2.749 million. Their amount rose by 11.8 per cent on an annual basis reaching 28.094 billion leva. Compared to June 2021, the number of these loans decreased by 1 per cent while their amount rose by 3.6 per cent. At the end of September 2021, the loans between 100,000 leva and 250,000 leva had the largest share (23.3 per cent) in the total amount of loans to the sector.
At the end of the third quarter of 2021, the number of deposits to Non-financial corporations, Financial corporations, Households and NPISHs decreased by 1.6 per cent on an annual basis while their amount rose by 11.8 per cent, reaching over 100.3 billion leva.
There were 604 thousand deposits of the Non-financial corporations sector at the end of September 2021, which was a 3.4 per cent increase, compared to the same month of 2020. At the end of the third quarter of 2021 these deposits amounted to 31.609 billion leva, marking a 10.8 per cent annual increase.
The three economic activities with the largest shares in the total amount of deposits of the sector were trade or repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (25.1 per cent), manufacturing (14.1 per cent) and construction (9 per cent). At the end of September 2021, the deposits over 1 million leva had the largest share (51 per cent) in the total amount of deposits.
There were 6.9 thousand deposits of the financial corporations sector which was an increase of 1.7 per cent in comparison with the same month of 2020. At the end of the third quarter of 2021, they amounted to 4.218 billion leva increasing by 36.3 per cent on an annual basis. At the end of September 2021, the deposits over 1 million leva held the biggest share (89.4 per cent) in the total amount of deposits.
At the end of the third quarter of 2021, there were 9.118 million deposits of the households and NPISHs sector, which was an annual decline of 2 per cent. At the end of September 2021, the amount of these deposits increased by 10.9 per cent on an annual basis reaching over 64.5 billion leva. Compared to the previous quarter, the number of deposits decreased by 1 per cent while their amount increased by 1.1 per cent. At the end of September 2021, the deposits between 50,000 leva and 100,000 leva formed the largest share (17.3 per cent) of the total amount, while the deposits between 200,000 and 500,000 leva were 7.2 per cent and these between 500,000 leva and 1 million leva were 2.3 per cent. There were 427 deposits of over 1 million leva each which formed a share of 4.4 per cent equal to 3,771,750,000 leva. LG/KK
