Sofia, November 12 (BTA) - The number of persons employed under an employment and civil-service relationship in Bulgaria increased by 32,500 at the end of September 2021 compared to September 2020, according to preliminary data released by the National Statistical Institute. The largest increase was reported in information and communication (8,700 or 8.6 per cent), followed by human health and social work activities (8,400 or 5.5 per cent) and accommodation and food service activities (4,800 or 5.2 per cent). Most jobs were lost in administrative and support service activities (3,500). In percentage terms, the worst job loser was mining and quarrying (7 per cent).
At 2,280,000 by September 30, 2021, employees numbered by 23,700 (1.0 per cent) fewer than by June 30, 2021. The largest decrease was reported in accommodation and food service activities (11.0 per cent), real estate activities (4.8 per cent), and administrative and support service activities (2.7 per cent). The largest increase of the number of employees was reported in education (1.3 per cent) and human health and social work activities (1.0 per cent).
Manufacturing (20.7 per cent) and wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (16.9 per cent) took up the largest shares in the structure of employees by economic activity. LG
