Sofia, November 18 (BTA) - An ice cream based on Bulgarian yoghurt received international acclaim at the Gelato World Heritage convention in Rome. Last weekend, the ice cream developed at an organic farm in Rozino (Southern Bulgaria), was selected as one of the best ice creams in the world, the Bulgarian team said.

Winner of the Alberto Pica Special Prize, the Bulgarian ice cream was ranked along with those of the best ice cream makes from China, Japan, Thailand, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan.

In the international ranking of the Gelato & Latte brand, Bulgaria is the only EU country to have found its way in the prestigious selection of new tastes organized by the Association of Master Gelatieris.

The yoghurt is made from the milk of free-range buffalo reared in the foothills of the Balkan Range. The traditional Bulgarian technology involves fermentation with Lactobacillus Bulgaricus, famous throughout the world for its unique qualities. The taste was offset with the dressing of green-tinted white chocolate with curcuma and blue spirulina./LN/BR/
