December Inflation in Bulgaria at 7.8% Y/Y
January 18 (BTA) - The National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported here on Tuesday that inflation in December 2021 was 7.8 per cent compared to December 2020, and 0.9 per cent compared to November 2021.
The annual average inflation, measured by CPI, in the last 12 months (January 2021 - December 2021) compared to the previous 12 months (January 2020 - December 2020) was 3.3 per cent.
In December 2021, compared to the previous month, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.4 per cent, the prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 0.4 per cent and prices of clothing and footwear decreased by 0.8 per cent. The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels increased by 0.7 per cent and the prices of furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance of the house increased by 1 per cent.
In December 2021, compared to the previous month, the prices of goods and services in healthcare increased by 0.1 per cent while prices in communications decreased by 0.3 per cent. The prices of recreation and culture goods and services increased by 4.7 per cent while prices in education remain unchanged, NSI reported.
