Marks Centennial Anniversary of
Bulgarian Cinema


Sofia, January 9 (BTA) - A photo exhibition opening on January
12 at the Sredets Gallery of the Culture Ministry is one of the
events marking the centennial anniversary of Bulgarian cinema.
The event is on until January 17, the Culture Ministry said.

The exhibition traces the history of Bulgarian cinema with
eye-catching photos of work during film shooting and stills from
100 significant Bulgarian films. The exhibition will be
officially opened by Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov a day
ahead of the professional holiday of Bulgarian film-makers,
January 13, the date of the first screening 100 years ago of
Vassil Gendov's film, "Bulgaran e Galant", the first Bulgarian
feature film.

The centennial anniversary of Bulgarian film-making will be
marked with various events throughout the year. LY /ZH/
